Canon has published a new plugin for Mac owners of its DSLR cameras, simply called EOS MOVIE Plugin-E1. Users can import video directly into Final Cut Pro, Apple's professional editing suite. In particular the plugin takes advantage of Final Cut's Log and Transfer technology, which permits marking and tagging clips that are still on camera.
